This county is the only county in Croatia with two national parks
on its territory: Kornati National Park within Kornati islands archipelago
and Krka National Park on the river Krka with its famous waterfalls.
Šibenik, one of the most beautiful and most interesting medieval towns
on the Adriatic coast is situated right on the sailing route between
these two national parks and on the main motorway which goes along
the Adriatic coast ("Jadranska magistrala").
Vodice is only ten kilometres far from Šibenik to the North. This
beautiful, romantic, mediterranean village crowded with luxurious
hotels, villas, modern restaurants and traditional old-fashioned wine-houses,
can be reached easily – by main motorway ("magistrala") from the North
direction (via Rijeka – Zadar – Vodice). The shortest route for tourists
from Italy is to travel by ferry to the Šibenik port but also, if
it is more suitable, to Zadar or Split. These two towns can be reached
by plane, too. Both towns are situated on the Adriatic coast, about
one hour driving distance from Vodice. |
